Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate

Coming to you next month in glorious HD and 3D on March 21st and 22nd which will engulf your life for the next two years!

So which version are you buying or are you buying both? For me, I'm getting the Wii U version since I don't really game outside much, or at all, so the HD version will just be better for me.

With more monsters, more weapons, more armour I think this will be the best game of the century. It looks 10 times more fun than the Wii version and even that was absolutely amazing to play.

I'm probably gonna go with both versions. Of course the WiiU is the obvious choice, but I would also like to have my MH3 with me for when I have to work out of town. These next few months are gonna be loaded with some Awesome games!

Is NA getting the Premium Wii U + MH3U box set? I was thinking of getting that but I can't afford to pay £300 and I already own a Wii U anyway, even though it is only a Basic, but it also comes with a Wii U Pro Controller which I'd really like to have for RPGs and stuff.

But I'll just get the game. I would get both versions but as I said, I rarely play outside anyway and even when I do go out I don't have enough time to play on it. But I might get the 3DS version further down the road if I want to take MH3 and my save data with me on a car journey or whatever.

I'm not sure if NA is getting that bundle. Its a sweet package deal, but I'm fine with what I got. And the pro-controller is well worth the money. I use that controller quite a bit on all of my games.

And most of my 3DS game time is spent at home. Sometimes I'll play when Jenny has the TV, or I usually play it right before bed. Its not like you have to play your 3DS on the go.

Yeah but then I might as well play it on the Wii U. And since I have it in my room and all I won't bother mum by hogging the TV. :P

The 3DS has some pretty decent titles so I still use it a lot, but I might the 3DS version as well if I can be bothered. :P

I've played both demos and here are my opinions:

3DS - The graphics look amazing! Just as good, if not better, than the Wii version of MH3. The controls are very well implemented but I feel the CPP will be needed for the camera since I found the touch screen D-pad to be a bit awkward and slow in the water.

Wii U - The graphics are breathtaking and really enhances on a game that was already a stunner anyway. The text is now a lot clearer and it looks really vibrant and the areas are just as epic. The controls are exactly the same as on the CCP from the Wii so old veterans will get used to it quite quickly.

I also have to say neither version out shines the other, they are both epic! 3DS may have less grunt than the Wii U but it still looks as nice as the Wii U version, mind some pixelation here and there.

What Capcom have done with both games is amazing. There really is nothing to complain about.

Downloading both of them right now! I'm especially looking forward to the WiiU version. Can't wait to see some of the beasts in HD.

The demo really didn't do the game justice for me. And the only reason I say that is because I forgot how to play the damn game! Other than that, I thought the game looked really good(WiiU version) and it was awesome to see some new monsters and weapons.

I'll try the 3DS version later tonight.

^ I plan to do the same Rory. My very first experience with the Monster Hunter series will be in beautiful, full stereoscopic 3D baby! Although, there's so many other games I want to get right now, so this won't be a day one purchase for myself.

I forgot how to play it too actually, I stepped into Hard knowing I'll be amazing and then... WHAT DO ALL THESE BUTTONS DO?!

I've figured out R is to sprint, Y does Heavy and A does Light attacks. B is to dodge. ZL and ZR? Not a clue... they make a sound effect but that's it.

EDIT: I don't think I can actually play this demo anymore. Simply because the amount of hype it's giving me, along with the frustration of not being able to carve the beast I just slain.

March 22nd is so far away... I honestly can't wait, this game will be truly epic!

Twenty... eight... days... to go... why is it so far away? Just waiting for this to be released is going to be like torture. At least I have it pre-ordered with ShopTo so I have a chance of getting it a day or two early which'll be nice.

Still... I want you in my collection... I hate waiting. :(

Do you know if bother versions are gonna be available to download? At least they gave you enough plays on the demo to tide you over.

It has TBD for the price on the 3DS eShop, so I'm guessing yes. I'm guessing it'll be on the Wii U eShop too if it'll be available for download on 3DS.

Why do you want to DL your games anyway? They're more expensive than retail... but I'm guessing you get that Nintendo Network Premium?

We got some really good news! Capcom has announced that they are gonna update two new features for the WiiU version. First is that the game will now support Gamepad only play. And Second is that the US and UK will now be able to hunt together since Capcom is gonna get rid of the region lock.

Capcom did good on this! The excitement is way too much to handle now.

Yeah... in April. :/

But it'll be nice to be hunting monsters across the atlantic. Can't wait to play with you Rory, it shall be a joy and a pleasure to hunt along your side!

I'm not complaining, I just don't understand why it isn't there in the first place. :/ I would gladly wa- actually, no, no I can't wait any longer than March 22nd, 3 weeks is already far enough away as it is.

Anyone else plan on buying Monster Hunter Ultimate? If so, what version do you plan on buying?

I plan on getting the WiiU version first. I'll buy the 3DS version a month or two later because I'd rather save a little bit of cash for Luigis Mansion.

Just the Wii U version for now, I might buy the 3DS version later on down the road, but I prefer big screen with big monsters to fill it!

I have been playing this game for so long... I already have around 30 hours play time put into it. At the moment I'm focusing on building up some stronger weapons, already have some pretty good Ice and Lightning weapons and an epic pair of chainsaw Dual Swords.

Recently got the Lagombi armour which looks awesome, I'm a bunny rabbit! Working on getting some Barroth tails and Rathalos Shells and then I'll be done with a few weapons. After that I'll probably start on the armours for the stronger monsters.
