New Super Mario Bros. 2

Does anyone plan on getting this? If so, do you plan on downloading or buying the cartridge?

I plan on getting this day one. And even though I have a ton of space on my memory card, I will probably get the physical copy. I actually found this to be a really good debate because there are so many pros and cons for each.

Either way, I'm really looking forward to this since it seems like it could get really competitive with the online leaderboards with your 3DS friends. That's been a really great feature for me. I always have fun trying to out do my friends in a fun, competitive way.

I'm most likely going retail, I would download it but I just love that new game opening ritual... ripping off the cellophane, opening the box and getting a whiff off that new game smell, delicately taking out that cartridge and slipping it into the 3DS' card slot.

I think like I've found a way of describing sex with boxes, cellophane, cartridges and a 3DS... lol.

The following information pertains to a download of New Super Mario Bros. 2 via the eShop, as tested in the U.S. by U.S. gaming press. A North American 3DS was used to download the game.

- total download time was 46 minutes and 23 seconds
- 2,725 blocks
- this is roughly the same as 340 MB

46 minutes? Holy balls! Was this download done via Sleep Mode or through the eShop? I've generally found Sleep Mode quicker for downloading games so I'm intrgued as to which they used... it says "via the eShop", but I'm guessing they're just stating where you can download it from. :3

@Rory: I'd rather own the physical copy anyways. I Don't want them to only make games downloadable either. At least you wouldn't have nintendo saying you didn't actually "own" it. They said something like that with the wii shop channel. I buy a retail game, It's MINE. bite me!

Well IGN have done their own experiment to see how long it takes and they got it down to 13 minutes, so IGN must have a better ISP than Siliconera. :P

Either way, I'm still going retail... why would I want to wait around for a quarter of an hour or more for a game to download when I can easily pre-order it and have it with me on release day and I know for a fact that copy is completely and utterly mine?

Completed the game so I can now finally play as Luigi, just have to unlock the Star World and the Flower World. Really enjoying this game, it's better than I imagined... if you haven't bought thi game yet, go out there and buy it immediately!

Bought it and Jenny beat it before I did.

I only got to the 3rd or 4th world before I started playing KH:DDD. It's definitely a great game and i cant wait to go at it again. Plus it looks real good on the XL screen.

Nearly finished the Star World, just the castle to finish now and it is one hell of a pain in the ass!

Did anyone else get that Notification from the dev team? Because the coin total has reached 100 billion coins, they've reopened all of the Toad houses! Might as well go get some free items. :3

Just downloaded all the three new course packs and they are easily the best courses I've ever played on in that game. Definitely worth the £2 for each of the packs (£6 for all of them). If you haven't bought them yet, you really should, the most fun I've had with NSMB2 since I beat the game a couple weeks back.

Gold Rush Pack is very nice by the way, got a nice healthy 17000+ coins. ;)

How do you download them? Do you do it on the game screen, or in the eShop? I'm definitely interested in it now.

You have to wait for a Notification from Nintendo, after that the shop tab will then be placed in the Coin Rush Mode. You can buy them individually or together as a set.

The Gold Rush pack is easily the best for coins, you can get 30k every time, easy route to 1 million.

Sweet! It looks like we will be getting the DLC this Thursday. I'm definitely gonna go for the Gold Pack since I just barely broke 100 thousand. I just beat the game about a week ago, so now I'm going back to try and find some of the Gold Coins that I missed. After that I'll be working my way up to a Million.

I'm currently at 300,000+ coins now. The Gold Rush Pack with the 30,000 coin goal got me from 100,000 to 300,000 in only a few games, getting that million is going to be well easy, as long as I can keep getting the 30,000 goal I'll be there in no time.

I grinded a little on World 3, on the pyramid level with the jumping flames. I grabbed the Gold Flower out of the box and jumped down the warp pipe with all the goombas. I just kept jumping on them, racking up the coins until the time was almost up. But after watching some YouTube videos, my trick fails big time compared to them.

Just downloaded the Coin Rush pack this morning. It was nice because I only had to add 8 cents to purchase them. And I might have the day off since the snow hit us pretty hard, so I'm looking forward to collecting alot of coins today.
